Two Oceans, One Power Cord

This week I’ll be soaring over the Pacific Ocean and landing in California. I will spend a day with my mom before going on to Sandy Cove, Maryland, where I’ll see my long time writer friend, Rebecca Price Janney, and speak to a gathering of women at the Sandy Cove Christian Conference Center.

Then I’ll hop across the Atlantic and arrive, Lord willing, in Nairobi where my Kenyan Sisterchick, Wambura will meet me at baggage claim. For a week she and I will be among a host of 180 writers and publishers from around the world that will be participating in LittWorld 2012. I’ll be giving the morning devotion and teaching several workshops.

When LittWorld concludes, Wambura has arranged for us to go to the Masai Mara on a safari. (Eeee!) Three other women will join us and I’m sure it will be an unforgettable experience.

Two oceans, one power cord. I am the power cord. At least that’s how I feel when I look at the itinerary for the next three weeks. Jesus said, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” And oh, how my soul knows that right well. I am just the conduit – the power cord. I plug my heart into His and He plugs and unplugs me from an interchangeable assortment of relationships and conversations and presentations in a variety of locations. He is the vine, I am the branch. He is the power source, I am the power cord.

Let Your power flow, Lord!

I will post updates here whenever possible and have also prepared a few blogs on some things of interest that are happening in the world of publishing. Those updates will post automatically while I’m away.
