Spoken For: You are Spoken For

Thank you for joining us for the Spoken For Devotional Blog Tour! Alyssa and I are taking turns posting daily devotionals, further exploring each chapter of Spoken ForWe invite you to study these truths with us and engage in the comment section as we are all reminded that we are truly are spoken for, by none other than God, our Relentless Lover! The term “Spoken For” is such a great term of endearment.

Can’t you just see it being used in the final scene of a lush movie based on a Jane Austin novel? An arrogant suitor approaches the leading lady at the grand ball. With an air of entitlement he informs her that the next dance will be his. She checks the dainty dance card attached to her wrist and with confidence replies, “That dance is spoken for, as are all my dances.”

The foiled suitor retreats and the hero we’ve been cheering for all along steps forward to take his beloved in his arms. He dances with her for this dance and the next dance and every dance thereafter.

So romantic.

When I think of how I am spoken for as a daughter of the King I see the same sort of happily ever after, only it’s on an eternal, heavenly scale. The wedding feast of the Lamb is coming and we have been issued an invitation to join the King of Kings and be with Him forever.

However, for that union to be made possible, a great price was paid in blood. Christ’s crucifixion was followed by His resurrection. His resurrection makes our restoration with God the Father possible. The invitation has been extended to all. Will you come to Him, receive His gift of forgiveness and enter into a new life in Christ?

As long as we are still living on this corrupted, spinning planet we must check what is written on our dance card and speak up with confidence. We are not available to go through the dance of life with the arrogant suitor. We have already been set apart for the One who calls us His own. Our dance card is filled.

From the moment Alyssa and I started writing this book, our heart’s desire was that young women would see that they have been bought at a great price. You are not up for grabs by the lying suitor who comes in making demands.

You are wanted. You are pursued. You are loved. You’ve been called. You’re of great value. You’re a peculiar treasure. You’re set free. You’re covered. You’re promised.

You are spoken for.

Thank you for joining us on this devotional blog tour! It’s been a blessing for Alyssa and me, and we hope the same for you. We hope that you will grab some girlfriends and gather for a weekly get together so that you can go through each chapter of Spoken For and begin to embrace who you are and Whose you are.  It’s time for your epic love story to begin!

Thanks for doing this devotional blog tour! It really helps bring out the elements of the book. I’m not really a devotional or even a blog type of person, but you and Alyssa’s blogs are bookmarked on my computer and I check for new blogs almost everyday. When my mom has the time to read Spoken For, I’m going to give her both websites and have her read the devotionals along with the book. You guys are awesome writers!

    • Thanks so much for letting us know, Kimimalia. I’m so glad these have been encouraging to you!
